Clinical Supervision

Supportive, collaborative supervision for therapists in training or practice

High-quality supervision is essential for ethical, effective, and sustainable practice—especially in CBT. Whether you’re a trainee, working toward BABCP accreditation, or an experienced therapist looking to deepen your clinical work, I offer a warm, structured, and reflective supervision space.

I’m a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and supervisor with over 15 years of experience across NHS, private, and educational settings. I also integrate third-wave CBT approaches such as ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and EMDR to support therapists working with complex or long-term presentations.

Supervision is more than compliance—it’s a space for learning, growth, and support. Together, we can explore your clinical practice, develop your therapeutic skills, and support your confidence as a clinician.

Who is Clinical Supervision for?

I work with:

  • CBT trainees (PG Diplomas and Masters)

  • Therapists working toward BABCP accreditation

  • Newly qualified therapists looking to consolidate their practice

  • Accredited therapists seeking supervision that integrates newer models

  • Therapists working with long-term conditions (LTC) or complex trauma

  • Practitioners who need CTS-R tape review, BABCP reports, or academic liaison

I also run online group supervision—please contact me to check availability.

I am here to empower therapists through reflective, evidence-based, and compassionate supervision.

My Supervision Approach

My supervision style is collaborative, compassionate, and based on Padesky’s CBT supervision model. I believe in building a trusting supervisory relationship where you feel safe to bring uncertainties, ethical dilemmas, and clinical challenges.

Key features of my approach:

  • Structured, formulation-driven supervision

  • Clear goal setting and reflection

  • Regular review of audio/video recordings (particularly for trainees)

  • Integration of ACT, CFT, EMDR, and mindfulness where appropriate

  • Tailored to your developmental stage and learning style

  • Emphasis on values-based practice and therapist wellbeing

Whether you're preparing a CTS-R tape, struggling with a complex case, or exploring your identity as a therapist, supervision offers the space to reflect, learn, and grow.

My Educational & CPD Experience

In addition to my clinical work, I have a strong background in training, mentoring, and professional development for CBT therapists. My educational and CPD experience enhances the quality of supervision I provide, ensuring it is not only grounded in theory and best practice, but also practical, relevant, and attuned to your learning needs.

Here’s how my background can support you in supervision:

  • Supervision of trainees in university and college settings:
I’ve supervised CBT trainees on postgraduate diploma and master’s programmes, guiding them through the demands of clinical placements, academic assignments, and case formulations. I’m familiar with the challenges that come with training, and I aim to offer both structure and reassurance as you build your confidence and competence.

  • Design and delivery of CPD workshops:
I regularly create and deliver workshops for both trainee and accredited therapists. Topics have included working with long-term conditions (LTC), integrating ACT into CBT, using imagery techniques in trauma work, and therapist wellbeing. This means I stay up to date with current developments in the field and bring fresh insights into our supervision sessions.

  • Support through the BABCP accreditation process:
I have supported numerous supervisees in successfully navigating the BABCP accreditation process—from understanding the criteria, preparing case studies and supervision logs, to reviewing CTS-R tapes. If you’re working towards accreditation, I can help demystify the process and keep you on track, step by step.

  • Experienced in both NHS and private sector contexts:
My supervision is informed by over 15 years in the NHS and private practice, so I understand the different demands of these environments. Whether you’re working in IAPT/primary care or in a more specialist or private setting, I can help you apply CBT principles effectively in the real-world context you work in.

  • Supportive of therapist identity and wellbeing:
I bring a reflective, values-led approach to supervision. Whether you're grappling with imposter syndrome, burnout, or the emotional toll of working with trauma, supervision is a place to reflect on your own needs too. My aim is to help you grow not just as a clinician, but as a confident, self-compassionate practitioner.
