Frequently Asked Questions

Psychotherapy

What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and how can it help me?
CBT is a structured talking therapy that helps you identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours. It's widely used to treat anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, OCD, and more. CBT focuses on practical tools to help you feel better and develop healthier patterns of thinking.

What problems can psychotherapy help with?
Psychotherapy can support you with a range of emotional and psychological issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, people-pleasing, perfectionism, low self-worth, and life transitions. It’s a space to explore your experiences, make sense of your story, and create meaningful change.

Do you offer online therapy sessions?
Yes, I offer both online therapy sessions and in-person appointments from my clinic in Caddington Woods. Online therapy provides flexibility and accessibility while maintaining the same level of support and confidentiality.

Couples Therapy

What is CBT for couples and how does it work?
CBT for couples helps partners understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours affect their relationship. It focuses on improving communication, resolving conflict, and rebuilding trust. It’s especially effective when one or both partners are experiencing stress, anxiety or depression.

Can couples therapy help with infidelity or trust issues?
Yes, couples therapy offers a safe, non-judgemental space to process infidelity, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional connection. We explore underlying issues, communication patterns, and emotional needs to support repair and growth in your relationship.

EMDR

What is EMDR therapy and who is it for?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapy for people experiencing trauma, PTSD, flashbacks, anxiety, or distressing memories. It helps your brain reprocess traumatic events using guided eye movements or tapping, reducing their emotional impact.

Do I have to talk in detail about my trauma in EMDR sessions?
Not necessarily. EMDR allows you to process traumatic experiences without having to describe them in detail. We work at your pace, and your comfort and safety are always prioritised.

Clinical Supervision

Do you provide BABCP-accredited CBT supervision?
Yes, I am a BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and supervisor. I provide supervision for CBT trainees, those working towards accreditation, and qualified therapists. I can also review CTS-R tapes and provide feedback to universities if needed.

What is the benefit of clinical supervision for therapists?
Clinical supervision supports your professional development, ethical practice, and emotional wellbeing. It offers space to reflect on your client work, gain insight, improve confidence, and manage challenging situations with guidance and support.

Do you offer online supervision sessions?
Yes, I offer flexible online supervision to suit your schedule, wherever you're based in the UK. This makes it easier for you to stay consistent with your supervision, whether you're in training or fully accredited.
